Some photographers are just plain stalkers. It's been known for a long time that the paparazzi tends to go to drastic measures to get pictures and to make living, and some of these measures include intruding their private life. However, I think that a line needs to be put.
Many celebrities lash out at the paparazzi. But many people don't understand why. From the photographer's view, the are simply doing their job and often, the victim is convinced that they have not done as bad as other paparazzi have before. What I think they don't get, don't care about or risk is that all the photographers following a celebrity builds up so that celebrities feel a need to lash out. Personally, I feel like most of the paparazzi can be split into two groups. The first group is the risk takers- the ones that jump over fences and stalk celebrities night and day to get pictures that they need. The second group is the regular photographers. For the most part, they respect privacy and sometimes across the line of privacy, but don't for their own terms of privacy. I believe that celebrities lash out because of what the first group of photographers do and lash out to the second group. For the most part, the paparazzi are human and I do believe that many hold a respectful level of privacy. But the problem is that each person has a different level of what they are comfortable with being photographed, and so often celebrities feel uncomfortable as each photograph is working on their own terms. It's also about a level of tolerance. I wouldn't mind people taking my picture while I get groceries, but I would be mad if cameras constantly followed me when I'm just shopping for groceries. It's also a double standard.
I also really think a line should be put as many paparazzi end up suing celebrities for being hit. To be honest, they should never really end up winning this case- it's their fault and i think a law should be creating saying something like "it's your fault if you get hit chasing a celebrity".
